Custom Area
Sometimes a standard radius (such as 1, 3, or 5 miles) is not the best way to analyze an area. If your trade area follows neighborhood boundaries, drive routes, or another custom shape, we can create a Custom Area Report instead.
Rather than calculating demographics for circular radiuses, we analyze the exact geographic area you provide.
How it works
You can send us:
- A map image with your area drawn on it
- A GIS or spatial file (such as a shapefile or GeoJSON)
- A clear description of the boundary you want analyzed
What you receive
Your report will include the same demographic tables as a standard Radius Report, calculated for your custom polygon instead of radiuses.
When a Custom Area Report is helpful
A Custom Area Report works well when:
- Your trade area follows roads or natural boundaries
- You want to analyze a neighborhood, district, or development
- Your market area is not circular
- You already have a GIS boundary file
Custom Calculations
If you need demographic data beyond the standard tables included in a Radius Report, we can add Custom Calculations to your report.
These calculations use the same geographic methodology as our standard reports but focus on additional demographic topics you request.
What are custom calculations?
Custom Calculations are additional demographic tables or metrics that are not included in the default Radius Report. Our team processes Census and demographic datasets to create new summaries tailored to your request.
